Vino Noceto Big Nut Newsletter - May 2007

May 20, 2007

Hello All!

It’s almost summer, and we have a flurry of activity at Vino Noceto. We’re getting ready to bottle up the last of the 2005 vintage wines – Riserva Sangiovese, five limited-production Sangioveses, Linsteadt Barbera and OGP Zinfandel. And, we’re planning a full line-up of spring and summer activities for your enjoyment.

Come for a Visit … There are lots of opportunities for you to try our current release Vino Noceto wines. We’re open daily – weekdays 11-4 and weekends 11-5. If you can, come on a weekday or early on the weekend for the most personal attention. Or, enjoy one of the many summer events listed below, including an old-fashioned Summer BBQ, a chance to learn to Cook (and Eat) Pasta, and our huge end-of-August Mediterranean Madness Sale. If you can’t get up to Amador County, perhaps you can make it to a winetasting closer to home. And, remember, you can always give us a call or drop us an email to place your order! Please see order information below.

Limos/Groups … If you’re planning a group outing to Vino Noceto, we want to make it as enjoyable as possible for you and our other winetasting guests. So, please give us a call or drop us an email, in advance, so we can be prepared to handle your group and show you a great time.

WARNING … Frivolo is about to disappear. We’re betting on somewhere between one and two weeks. And, then it’s a long wait until the next release in December. So, if you want some, be sure to order now!

What Else is Available? Well, three of our recently-released Sangioveses have already sold out – Reward Ranch, Noce Knoll and Misto – but here’s what you’ll still find at the Tasting Room:

· Rosato di Sangiovese is a perfect wine for a warm spring or summer day. With incredible layers of fruit and complexity, it’s great for a cocktail party, luncheon, or as a foil to spicy ethnic food.

· If you’re looking for a fresh, fruity summer red, look no further than our Nutz! Red Wine. It’s really yummy and quite a bargain at $10/bottle.

· Noceto Sangiovese is always our favorite. Made in the style of a fine Chianti, it’s a fruit-forward, easy drinking wine that is a wonderful complement to a wide variety of foods and flavors. Perfect for your summer barbeque!

· Riserva Sangiovese is showing its bold, dense fruit. Over the next several months, it should mellow into a multi-layered, elegant wine.

· Dos Oakies, Hillside and Marmellata are tasting great, but continue to mature on a daily basis. As the summer progresses, they should develop into complex, fruity, chewy Sangioveses.

· Linsteadt Barbera is once again a winner, with great depth of fruit and prefect balance. It will go fast.

· OGP Zinfandel is a fruit-packed bomb, with the typical old-vine Zinfandel dust and spice showing through. It is tasting wonderfully, and is a wine that experience shows should age for years and years.

Grappa & Olive Oil … As you likely know, we’ve now got three grappas – our second bottling of Grappa di Sangiovese, an elegant, aromatic Moscato Grappa and a spicy OGP Zinfandel Grappa. And, we’re offering our second, very limited vintage of Noceto Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It’s made exclusively from our estate olive orchard from five different Italian olive varieties. If you want to try some Nocino (a traditional, Italian walnut liqueur), it’s not available for sale, but perhaps we’ll give you a taste at our summer barbeque!

Direct Shipping Update. While the paperwork is a nightmare, due to the hard work of several wonderful organizations, we are now able to ship to a large number of states, including Alabama (with a consumer permit), Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, Louisiana, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Texas, Ohio, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. We ship to Arizona via our distributor. If we don’t ship to your state, send us an email at vino@noceto.com to find out why, and you’ll get a personal reply.
