Each year, Vino Noceto brings in a variety of grapes, many of which do not make it into our traditional program. Rusty, our winemaking wizard, magically blends the best of the rest into our 180° Selection - a mysterious, complex red wine entirely unlike any other that we make. 90 cases made.

Deep olallieberry red. Slightly rustic, earthy nose, but in a sophisticated way. A wine that hits the tongue with a blast of acidity, very different from Noceto's Sangioveses, which tend to be soft. A blend of Sangiovese, Teroldego, Barbera, Alicante Bouschet and Aglianico, but it's a challenge to determine which dominates: certainly not Sangiovese, perhaps Barbera? In the old days — 50 and more years ago — this blend would have been called "Dago Red", though this iteration is very modern. Instead of being fermented and aged in redwood tanks, it shows stainless steel fermentation and aging in oak barrels. Because of the high acidity and obvious tannins, I see a long life ahead.
