The 2020 block designate Sangioveses are officially released, and it's time to come taste the juice of the vine. From the too-cool-for-school and light-bodied Misto to the deep and jammy Marmellata, there's something for everyone.
Just released this Spring, these limited-production wines haven't yet racked up their big awards. But if we judge based on 2019, the stats look promising. The 2019 Dos Oakies Sangiovese received 98 Points and a Double Gold from the California State Fair as well as a very coveted Two Puffs and 91 Points from the Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine. The 2019 Hillside also crushed the competition with 99 Points and a Double Gold from the California State Fair as well as One Puff from the Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine.
