2008 Colheita Port, 500ml

Made in the style of a Portuguese tawny, this vintage port is a blend of four traditional Portuguese grape varieties -- Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cao, Tinta Amarela, and Tinta Roriz. A higher alcohol, sweet, dessert-style wine, it was aged in oak barrels for ten years and fortified with grape brandy.
Over the course of its decade in neutral oak barrels, the Colheita Port developed a deep, lingering palate. It slowly waltzes across the tongue, with notes of anise, cinnamon, dried plum, and fig. Though delightful with a variety of desserts, nuts, and cheese, it's at it best when paired with a traditional crème brulée.
